Our Story
What began as a hobby funded by stimulus money has evolved into a small business dedicated to upcycling materials that would otherwise end up in landfills. We are a family of four: Andrew (Dad and Husband), Kristin (Mom and Wife), Courtney (12), and Malichi (5).
Andrew is presently employed at a hardwood floor company that provides a lot of the necessary materials to create the beautiful items offered by Beauty Forged by Light. Andrew is also the Laser operator, and design editor. Kristin, who started as a stay-at-home mom, now enjoys working as a full-time preschool teacher's aide and is affectionately referred to as "the brains of the operation." She envisions innovative projects and then shares that vision with Andrew, who brings it to fruition. Courtney serves as our finisher; her tasks may be small at the moment but include hand-sanding earrings, applying food-grade oil to seal wooden earrings, and assisting in placing hundreds of earrings on cards. She also helps with the setup and teardown of markets and events. Malichi currently provides comic relief and attempts to assist by putting earring backs onto earrings that have been placed on earring cards. As a family, we take great joy in this small business we have created and hope that the items you see will bring a smile to your face and ultimately enhance the beauty of your home.
